Is your community next to collapse?

As businesses close due to a tightened credit market and are unable to ride out the financial crisis safe cities structures collapse.

Tax revenues are plummeting and turning to a bankrupt state such as California is not an option for cities and turning to a bankĀ  or the public to have their debt financed is even more unlikely, as credit ratings of the state, county & cities fall to new lows.

Home owner associations are going bankrupt due to foreclosures and a shortage of due paying residents in a community.

Business are closing doors with a lack of demand, some of these business’s that are closing are the foundation of the tax structures of cities.

Loss of tax revenue increases crime

Environmentalist pressure closure of Richmond refinery

Richmond’s Chevron Refinery was attacked by a Green Party Mayor and a lawsuit by a persistent environmental group. The company has decided to eliminate the plant and its action will close many business that rely on the facilities operations for their business causing a chain reaction of loss of revenue, jobs and vacancies for the already struggling city of Richmond. Cap & trade measures if passed will force the exact same scenarios nationwide of bankrupting cities and its citizens.

Richmond with some of the highest crime statistics in the state will now be faced with losing the foundation of this cities tax structure. Many services will see cuts including police support services if not the police force itself. Richmond is a dramatic example not having multiple large companies to diversify the loss such as some Silicon Valley cities. Richmond has already been hit recently by loss of port revenue due to lack of demand for goods and is facing a closure of Hilltop Mall the largest shopping area which has become crime ridden and has compounding vacancies.

Unemployment and lack of funding for police services for bankrupt cities such as Vallejo has created high crime areas that soon will become unmanageable with the current budgets. Waiting for the City Police to solve the problem could prove fruitless, response times are increasing and manpower to process any crime has been cut, salaries have been reduced and further cuts are currently planned for most cities in California.

Many homeowners & condominiumĀ  associations have declared bankruptcy creating a very hard sell for already vacant developments. These are quickly becoming high crime areas with very low rents and lack of structure in a community.
